As part of its commitment to furthering the educational interests and needs of area adults, as well as visitors to our Lake from across the country, the W. E. Skelton 4-H Educational Conference Center is pleased to present its Adult Education Program. Our Adult Education Program has two (2) major components:
- Road Scholar (formerly
Elderhostel) - we serve as a host site to this international program dedicated to the continuing education of adults. Course participants from around the country visit us for our Road Scholar programs. These multi-day educational programs feature a variety of stimulating and interesting topics that vary from week to week. In addition to the program cost, the registration fee includes meals, lodging, field trips, and entertainment.

- Adult Education Courses - serving adults from around the lake and broader region in general, our Adult Education Courses typically feature local instructors and topics that serve the needs of adults in our community. Topics may include a variety of classes such as introduction to computers, digital photography, "antiquing", cooking, beginner’s guitar, and much more. Additionally, we are fortunate to occasionally partner with Ferrum College to offer continuing education courses in areas such as drawing, painting, water color, and more!
